The Smaller States Handbook 2019
Students enrolled in Smaller States and Peacemaking (2019) worked to create a handbook that details the opportunities and challenges faced by smaller states who engage in peacemaking. The handbook features chapters on a diverse range of countries stretching around the globe including Switzerland, Netherlands, Ireland, Qatar, Costa Rica and Fiji. The student’s work also proposes an unconventional and innovative interpretation of smaller states emphasizing the relative size of a state rather than strict definitions according to population and GDP, and so also include Canada and Japan for comparison.
