Outreach
CANZPS academics engage in a variety of research activities including study of the Australian-American alliance, New Zealand-US relations, and the Blue Continent. Alan Tidwell, director of the center, participates in “State-craftiness: mapping competition, cooperation, and coercion in the Pacific Islands”, funded a strategic policy from the Australian Department of Defence. In addition, Tidwell also participates in โA networked security architecture in the Pacific: Implications for Australiaโ, also funded also a Australian Department of Defence Strategic Policy Grant project. CANZPS has participanted in the Small States and the New Security Environment (SSANSE) project funded by a NATO grant. CANZPS students have an opportunity work on these research projects.

Blue Pacific Futures
Blue Pacific Futures promotes voices from the Pacific. It is a joint project of the Center for Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Studies and the Center for Pacific Island Studies at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.
