China and the South Pacific

In the last 15 years, China has gone from having minimal interests in the South Pacific, to becoming one of the dominant players. China and polar politics specialist Professor Anne-Marie Brady analyses what lies behind China’s ever-increasing interest in the South Pacific and whether or not it will affect the interests of other major players in the region, such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and France. Anne-Marie Brady is the author of eight scholarly books including “Looking North, Looking South: China, Taiwan, and the South Pacific” (World Scientific, 2010).
