Michael Walsh is an Affiliate Researcher at the Center for Australian, New Zealand, and Pacific Studies. He is also a Senior Adjunct Fellow at Pacific Forum and President of the Islands Society. Mr. Walsh formerly served as the Chair of the Asia-Pacific Security Affairs Subcommittee on the Biden Defense Working Group during the 2020 United States Presidential Campaign, Chair of the Experts Roundtable on Biopreparedness at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Member of the Experts Working Group on Emerging Security Challenges at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, and Member of the Expert Work Group for the INDOPACOM Theater Redesign Study of the United States Army War College. Mr. Walsh is a regular contributor to The Diplomat, The Hill, Marianas Variety, Pacific Island Times, and Taipei Times. His work also regularly appears in regional think tank publications.
