The Pacific links the world. Tremendous trade and commerce travel through the Pacific, joining east and west. Australia, New Zealand and the United States share this common ocean and all the challenges and possibilies that flow through it. Living this shared experience are also the people of the Pacific. From Tonga and Samoa through to Hawaii and Micronesia the people living on these island states know all too well the promise and peril brought by the Pacific.
Our teaching and research has long reflected this shared experience. In recognition of this we have become the Center for Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Studies. From this unique position we will continue our work and hope that we will gather support from around the globe in our effort to bring about greater understanding.
