Title: Dr. Jim Chalmers MP to Join CANZPS Board of Advisors

CANZPS is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jim Chalmers, federal Member for Rankin, to the CANZPS Board of Advisors. Dr. Chalmers has been the Member for Rankin since September 2013. After his first election he was immediately promoted to Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Investment. He is the Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Tax and Revenue, a member of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics, and a member of the Australian Labor Party’s National Policy Forum.

Dr. Chalmers was previously the Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre and, before that, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer. He has a PhD in political science and international relations from the Australian National University and a first class honours degree in public policy from Griffith University. His first book Glory Daze was published in July 2013 and he has contributed to a number of scholarly publications and other media. His main policy interests are the economy, education and foreign affairs.
